Cheese production takes time, energy and significant resources. Losses during transportation therefore have a considerable impact on both the company and the environment. When Fromagerie L’Ancêtre noticed that many product packages ripped open during transportation, the company decided to review its packaging concept for delivery from the plant to the store.
By increasing delivery box height, more space was available for the cheese. That initiative reduced the number of packages that ripped open during transportation and the cheese that was wasted. In this case, larger packaging reduced losses by 42%.
